first_imgEast Kilbride have announced the signing of former Motherwell star Chris Humphrey. The winger, who has 12 international caps for Jamaica, had announced his retirement from the game on October 12 but has now joined the Lowland League side and could feature in the Scottish Cup tie against Spartans.Humphrey said he was hanging up his boots due to injury after leaving Bury in the summer. “I’ve been playing for the last year or so with a lot of pain and I can’t play through that anymore,” he said. However, East Kilbride’s interim boss Stuart Malcolm said that Humphrey had been working with the players and looked ready to play immediately. “Chris has been training with the squad, and has looked very sharp,” he told the club’s website. “It’s deal that club have been working on for a week or two, and Chris is a player that we feel can significantly improve our options with his quality and experience. “We are delighted to complete the deal, and he could well have a part to play against Spartans.”last_img read more
